South Hamilton building momentum in softball

The South Hamilton softball team picked up three wins over their last four games, including a pair of triumphs over the weekend at the Hudson Tournament.

After besting Nevada last week, 15-3, the Hawks went 2-1 on Saturday with wins over Denver and Dunkerton while falling to Dike-New Hartford.

In the win over Nevada, eighth-grader Emma Lammers hit a home run and drove in six as Sydnee Flaugh had four hits with a double, three runs scored and two RBI.

Jillian Hesse had three hits and drove in four as Ashlyn Erickson scored three times. Makena Galetich drove in two, scored three times and struck out six over six innings.

Hesse had two hits with a triple for South Hamilton (4-5 overall), and two RBI and two runs vs. Denver. Galetich earned the win. Lammers also had two hits with two runs and an RBI.

Tanna Thompson drilled a home run and drove in two vs. Dunkerton with Galetich and Lammers also knocking home two each.

Hesse recorded two hits and Flaugh scored twice as Hesse picked up the win, striking out seven.
