Lynx suffer NCC setback

FORT DODGE — The Webster City softball team suffered their first North Central Conference setback of the season here Monday night, falling to No. 5 (Class 1A) St. Edmond, 4-0.

The Gaels took an early lead on a solo home run by University of Iowa commit Mariah Myers. Four hits in the third led to two runs and eighth-grader Toryn Helle added her own homer in the fifth.

Bonnie Nohrenberg collected two hits with Ava Peterson also getting a hit off Kaili Henning, who struck out nine for St. Edmond.

Delainey Bargfrede had three strikeouts and no walks for the Lynx inside the circle, allowing seven hits in all. The senior and Western Kentucky University signee now has 638 strikeouts in her career.

Adeline Tesdahl stole a base for the Lynx, who played Clarion-Goldfield/Dows on Wednesday and host Humboldt on Friday.
