Lynx drop one-run contest to Lions

The Webster City baseball team dropped a tough 8-7 decision here Wednesday night to Clear Lake.

After falling behind early, 4-0, the Lynx rallied, scoring five in the fourth. Clear Lake plated four runs in the sixth as Webster City tried to rally again, adding two more in the seventh.

Matthew Tesdahl had a double and drove in three with Josh Stansfield recording two hits and Briar Klaver scoring twice. Klaver and Braylon Dyvig each drove in a run as Josh Griep, Tesdahl, Aiden Hrnicek and Dyvig all stole a base.

Keegan Hisler struck out five in four innings of work on the mound.

Over the last 32 meetings between the two, each school has now won 16 games. Webster City is 11-4 since 2017 vs. the Lions.

The Lynx head to Iowa Falls-Alden on Friday.
