Clear Lake rallies past Lynx in softball, 4-2
CLEAR LAKE — A late flurry of runs by Clear Lake cost the Webster City softball team a key North Central Conference game here Monday night.
The Lions (10-8 overall, 7-3 in the North Central Conference) scored four in the sixth inning to secure a 4-2 victory, winning for just the third time in the series since 2018.
Jakaela Cherry had an RBI and scored a run, Ava Peterson scored a run and Delainey Bargfrede struck out seven for Webster City (13-8, 9-2).
All four runs scored by Clear Lake were unearned against Bargfrede, who allowed just three hits.
For the Lions, Jezzie Thompson struck out 13.
The Lynx look to rebound on Wednesday when they host Iowa Falls-Alden.
