Bargfrede Ks 17 for Lynx at Algona

ALGONA — The Webster City softball team remained perfect in North Central Conference play with a key 2-0 road win over Algona here Wednesday night.

The Lynx (10-4 overall, 7-0 in league) plated both runs in the sixth after five scoreless frames between the two.

Ava Peterson and Alivia Burns both crossed home in the inning as Delainey Bargfrede limited the Bulldogs to just two hits while striking out 17 batters.

The two-time all-stater and future Western Kentucky pitcher walked one and hit another while also adding a single at the plate.

Bonnie Nohrenberg recorded a double and walked while Breanna Bahrenfuss also had a hit for Webster City, who stole six bases on the night. Adeline Tesdahl had two of those with Burns, Peterson, Jakaela Cherry and Isabel Weinschenk each recording one.

The Lynx finished out the week with a non-conference contest at Pocahontas Area Thursday night ahead of a meeting with No. 5 (Class 1A) and co-NCC leader St. Edmond on Monday at Rogers Park in Fort Dodge.

Starting at $3.46/week.
