Webster City rolls past St. Edmond, 20-5

The Webster City baseball team took advantage of wild pitching by St. Edmond here Wednesday night, posting a 20-5 victory in four innings.

Thanks to 16 walked batters and seven more who were hit by a pitch, the Lynx were able to get to 3-3 on the year.

Jaxon Griffith drove in three runs with Matthew Tesdahl, Keegan Hisler, Josh Stansfield and Trevyn Lyons all plating two RBI. Webster City scored 15 runs in the fourth to end the contest.

Stansfield had two hits while Braylon Dyvig, Griffith and Hisler all scored three runs. Hisler drew three walks and was hit by a pitch while Aiden Hrnicek also drew three walks.

On the mound, Gavin Griffith picked up the win, striking out four while allowing just three hits and one earned run.

Webster City heads to Clarion-Goldfield/Dows on Friday before taking part in the Newell-Fonda Tournament alongside the host Mustangs, Unity Christian and Don Bosco on Saturday.
