Webster City remains unbeaten on the pitch
IOWA FALLS — The third-ranked Webster City boys soccer team moved one step closer to a perfect regular season, topping Iowa Falls-Alden here Monday night, 8-1.
The Lynx (12-0 overall, 10-0 in North Central Conference) host No. 9 Humboldt on Thursday.
Eddy Fuentes recorded a hat trick with two assists, Eduardo Perez scored twice and had a pair of assists, and Connor Peck, David Villelas and Israel Torres each added a goal.
Peck, Villelas, Torres and Cristian Banda Bermudez all had an assist in the win. Edwin Nolasco Ramos had two saves.
Webster City finished with 16 shots including 12 on goal in winning for the eighth straight time vs. the Cadets. They lead the series 20-7 all-time since 2011.
With the win, the Lynx clinched at least a share of the NCC crown having already topped Humboldt earlier this season.
