Webster City pulls through

A big fifth inning helped lift the Webster City baseball team past Storm Lake on Tuesday night, 7-6.

The Lynx (2-3 overall) fell behind 5-0 after the top of the fifth before rallying with a five-spot in the bottom half. They scored the winning runs in the sixth to clip the Tornadoes (5-2).

Josh Griep earned the win on the mound, striking out four over six innings of work. He scattered five hits with two earned run and three walks issued. Braylon Dyvig secured the save.

Jaxon Griffith had two hits with two steals and a run scored while Trevyn Lyons drove in two. Griep, Josh Stansfield and Keegan Hisler each had an RBI.

Griep also scored twice in the victory.
