Webster City, South Hamilton track programs will be well-represented in Des Moines

DES MOINES — Webster City and South Hamilton will have a busy three-day stretch beginning Thursday at the co-ed state track and field meet.

The Lynx are qualified in eight combined events between the boys and girls, while the Hawks are entered in 12.

Webster City and South Hamilton will both be part of the early sessions involving Class 3A and 2A each day, with events starting at 9 a.m. inside Drake Stadium.

Keegan Hisler, Jayden Weinzetl, Jaxon Cherry, Isabel Grossoehme and Adyson Poppen are all in individual events for Webster City, while South Hamilton features Ty Koehnk, Kolby Hodnefield, Cici Herrick and Grace Neuberger.

The Lynx will also run in the boys distance medley relay with Weinzetl, Hisler, Luke Estlund and Justin Callahan, while the Webster City girls are in the 4×400-meter relay. That unit consists of Cloe Savitski, Adeline Tesdahl, Rosemary Chamness and Grossoehme.

Aiden Hrnicek, Jaxon Griffith, Jack Barner, Cherry, Tristyn Wright, Kaitlyn Winkler and Lydia VanDeer are alternates.

The Hawks qualified in seven relays total, with the boys running the 4×200, 4×400, distance medley and sprint medley while the girls are in the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400 and sprint medley.

Hodnefield, Reece Ricke, Nick Severseike and Koehnk run the 4×200 and 4×400. The distance medley features Severseike, Jonathan Drake, Ricke and Pete Coburn. The sprint medley will be Severseike, Noah Gunderson, Hodnefield and Koehnk.

Competing in the 4×100 and sprint medley will be Sydnee Flaugh, Makena Galetich, Ashlyn Erickson and Tanna Thompson. Galetich, Brooklyn Doolittle, Erickson and Thompson are in the 4×200. Dooitle, Galetich, Thompson and Erickson the 4×400.

Kole Feaker, Landon Greufe,Tanner Twedt, Sara Scheller, Riah Van De Pol, Lillie Ammerman, Olivia Beaune, McKenna Miller, Herrick and Bianca Seaton are relay alternates.

Hisler is in the high jump, Weinzetl the 200-meter dash prelims, Cherry in the discus, Grossoehme, Koehnk, Hodnefield and Herrick in the 400. They will all be in action on Thursday. Cherry and Poppen are in the shot put on Friday, along with Neuberger in the high jump.

All the relays except the sprint medley are set for Friday with prelims or timed finals.
