Lynx come up short against Ballard

WEBSTER CITY — A wild back-and-forth contest went the way of Ballard here last Thursday, as the Webster City baseball team fell, 9-7.

The Bombers scored two in the eighth to secure the win after the Lynx rallied to tie it at 7-all in the fourth.

Webster City (1-1 overall) would scored three runs in the first and three more in the second. Jaxon Griffith had two hits, scored two runs and stole two bases, Trevyn Lyons drove in two and Briar Klaver scored twice with an RBI.

Keegan Hisler had a triple and drove in a run with Josh Stansfield also driving in a run.

Braylon Dyvig and Gavin Griffith both had two strikeouts in relief.

The Lynx head to Woodbine on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. start.
