A six-run second inning gave the Webster City baseball team more than enough offense to post a 13-0 victory over Eagle Grove here Tuesday night.

The Lynx (1-0 overall) would put together another six-run frame in the fourth to end the contest early vs. their former North Central Conference rival.

Keegan Hisler got the start on the mound, striking out seven while allowing just one hit. He was also 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored.

Josh Griep drove in a pair and drew two walks with a hit, while both Briar Klaver and Josh Stansfield each had two hits and an RBI.

Klaver scored two runs, as did Jaxon Griffith, who also stole two bases. Aiden Hrnicek added two steals and two runs scored.

Trevyn Lyons and Matthew Tesdal each drove in a run.

Webster City has won 12 of the last 16 meetings vs. Eagle Grove overall, including seven in a row.

The Lynx next host Ballard (0-1) on Thursday.
