Four late runs turned the score heavily in favor of Algona here last week, as the Bulldogs downed the Webster City baseball team, 9-0.

A three-run third gave Algona an early 4-0 lead, as they would add runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

Jaxon Griffith had two hits, including a double, and stole six bases for the Lynx (1-3 overall, 0-1 in North Central Conference). Keegan Hisler had a steal and a hit while also reaching once more.

Those were the only three hits Webster City got off Tate Slagle, as the University of Iowa commit struck out 15 to earn the win.

Hisler had five strikeouts in two-plus innings of action on the mound.

The Lynx return to the field on Tuesday when they host Storm Lake.

Starting at $3.46/week.
