Webster City girls earn bronze at Ram Relays in Jefferson

JEFFERSON — The Webster City girls picked up a third-place team finish here Monday evening at the Ram Relays.

Boone was first with 105 points, Carroll second with 83 and the Lynx right behind with 77.

Isabel Grossoehme and Adeline Tesdahl were both indivdual winners, as Grossoehme won the 400 and Tesdahl the 400 hurdles. Webster City was also crowned champions of the 4×200 behind Cloe Savitski, Olivia Gallentine, Ellie Weinschenk and Tristyn Wright.

Grossoehme held off Kaycee Pittman of Greene County by less than a second, posting a winning time of 1:02.75 to a 1:03.44 by Pittman.

Tesdahl topped Carroll’s Autumn Fortner in a photo-finish. Tesdahl went 1:12.11 while Fortner crossed in 1:12.88.

Sydney Oswald, Lydia VanDeer, Charlee Olson and Annabelle Hurt were second in the 4×800 with the 4×100 of Tesdahl, Weinschenk, Gallentine and Savitski, and the shuttle hurdle of Lydia Roberts, Gallentine, Tateelina Vankham and Lexi Scism both placing third.

Weinschenk (100), Roberts (100 hurdles), Jakaela Cherry (discus) and Adysen Poppen (shot put) all finished fourth with Savitski (200), Grossoehme (800), Vankham (long jump) and the sprint medley each finishing fifth.

Gallentine was sixth in the 400 hurdles and Scism seventh in the long jump. The 4×200 and distance medley both recorded sixth place finishes.

The Lynx are scheduled to host their home meet on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Joining Webster City in the field will be Algona, Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, Eagle Grove, Mason City Newman and Perry.
