The fourth-ranked Webster City boys soccer team remained perfect here Monday, posting a 5-0 victory over Clear Lake to complete the season sweep.

Eddy Fuentes recorded another hat trick, recording the first two goals of the match in the opening 15 minutes. Eric Torres and Eduardo Perez both scored in the second half on penalty kicks within a minute of one another.

Fuentes tallied the final goal in the 67th minute, giving him 22 on the year.

Perez had two assists with David Villelas and Conner Peck each adding one.

As a team, the Lynx (7-0 overall) had 22 shots with 14 coming on goal. Edwin Nolasco Ramos saved all six shots fired at him by Clear Lake.

“It is always comforting when they come out and put one on the board early,” WCHS head coach Craig Signorin said. “Eduardo beat two guys and slotted a great ball through to Eddy, where he found the top right corner.

“The boys seem to settle in much better. Eddy had another incredible game. Eric Torres came on to give us some valuable minutes and it was nice to see him win a PK and put it away for his first goal of the season.”

Up next for Webster City will be Garner-Hayfield/Ventura on Thursday. Earlier this year, the Lynx posted a 9-0 victory over the Cardinals.

From there, they conclude the week with a visit to Humboldt set for Friday. The Wildcats are 6-0 on the year and tied atop the conference with Webster City.

Last year, the Lynx posted a 2-1 victory, snapping a six-match win streak in the series by Humboldt.
