Lynx fare well in front of home crowd

The Webster City girls put together a strong all-around showing, placing second here at the Lynx Relays on Thursday.

Algona scored 200 points to claim top honors with Webster City recording 138. Bishop Garrigan, Eagle Grove and Perry rounded out the Top-5.

Adysen Poppen and Jakaela Cherry went 1-2 in the shot put, as Poppen had a throw of 34-5 to claim first place.

The sprint medley relay went 1:59.13 to also finish first for the Lynx.

Cloe Savitski (100) and Isabel Grossoehme (400) added runner-up medals, with the 4×200 and shuttle hurdle relays also placing second.

Grossoehme finished third in the 800 and Adeline Tesdahl scored bronzes in the 400 hurdles and high jump.

Lydia VanDeer was fourth in the 800, as was Lynne Roberts (100 hurdles) and Avery Poppen (discus). Earning fifth place finishes weer Tristyn Wright (200), Olivia Gallentine (400 hurdles) and Sydney Oswald (3,000).

The 4×100, 4×400, 4×800 and distance medley relays all placed third.
