Lynx girls finish third at Boone

BOONE — The Webster City girls track and field team came away with a third place finish here this past Thursday at the Don Howard Invitational.

Host Boone finished first with Woodward-Granger placing second, just four points ahead of the Lynx.

Cloe Savitski, Isabel Grossoehme and Adysen Poppen were all event winners, as Webster City added four runner-up finishes in relays.

Savitski won the 100-meter dash in 13.44, Grossoehme the 800-meter run in 2:52.17 and Poppen the shot put with a throw of 35-1.

The 4×100, 4×200, 4×400 and shuttle hurdle relays all placed second.

Olivia Gallentine was third in the long jump, as Amanda Lahr (shot put) and Avery Poppen (discus) added bronze medals.

Lynne Roberts finished fourth in the 100 hurdles, as did the distance medley relay.

Webster City heads to Iowa Falls for a meet on Monday.
