Lynx girls fall to Iowa Falls-Alden

IOWA FALLS — The Webster City girls soccer team came up short here vs. Iowa Falls-Alden, 4-1.

Jillian Symens had the lone goal for the Lynx, who fell behind 2-0 at the half.

“Iowa Falls-Alden is a very strong team and they played fast,” WCHS head coach Kristine Mason said. “They had two goals in the final 10 minutes as were got fatigued and had some injuries. It was one of our better performances despite the final score as Joleah (Stuhr) made so many saves.

“We had a lot of opportunities and just couldn’t convert.”

For the Cadets, Ariana Palacios had two goals and Deana Raisch added a goal with an assist.

The Lynx return to the pitch on Monday vs. Webster City as part of a lengthy run of home matches.
