HIGH FIVE

The Webster City boys soccer team remained unbeaten on the pitch here Thursday, posting a 10-0 victory over Iowa Falls-Alden.

Eddy Fuentes recorded a haul with four goals scored, adding a pair of assists for the Lynx (5-0 overall, 3-0 in North Central Conference). The junior now has 16 goals on the season.

Eduardo Perez added a hat trick with two assists while Israel Torres found the back of the net twice and also had an assist. Perez, a senior, has eight goals and Torres, a freshman, has two.

David Villelas scored his second goal of the season as Wilmer Padilla Chavez and Conner Peck each recorded an assist.

Over the past four matches, the Lynx have not allowed a goal while scoring 30. On the year, they have 35 goals scored and just one allowed.

Webster City finished with 19 shots including 13 on goal with six corner kicks. They allowed just four shots throughout the game to the Cadets with two on goal.

“It was fun to watch the boys play through the elements,” WCHS head coach Craig Signorin said. “The wind was howling and it was tough to find the perfect weight of the pass when we were trying to connect going to goal.

“Once Eddy scored, the guys started to roll after that.”

The Lynx are now off until Friday when they head to Aplington-Parkersburg.
