Hawks earn pair of relay crowns

GILBERT — The South Hamilton boys track and field team battled the weather to compete here Monday, picking up a pair of relay titles.

Overall, the Hawks finished fifth, as Gilbert won the meet.

South Hamilton won the sprint medley relay in a time of 1:38.60 and claimed the 4×400 relay in 3:24.54.

Nick Severseike, Jonathan Drake, Kolby Hodnefield and Ty Koehnk ran the sprint medley, while Koehnk, Reece Ricke, Severseike and Hodnefield comprised the 4×400, which won by almost 12 seconds over Gilbert.

Ricke was the 400 runner-up, with Drake taking second in the 200. Severseike, Ricke, Koehnk and Pete Coburn raced to a second in the distance medley.

Noah Gunderson was fourth in both the 100 and 200, with Coburn placing sixth in the 1,600.
