Hawks compete in girls triangular
JEWELL — The South Hamilton girls golf team got to see a defending state champion compete at their home triangular.
Roland-Story, who took the crown in 2A last spring, shot a 185 behind medalist Brinley Carlson to finish first. West Marshall was second with a 193 followed by the Hawks with a 219.
Rebekah Carlson carded the low round for South Hamilton, shooting a 43 as she recorded a par on three holes. Abby Adamski had a 51, Macy Conklin a 61 and Arynn Luppes a 64 for the counting scores.
Both Abby Richardson and Sydney Gelder had rounds of 72.
“Roland-Story came in hot,” South Hamilton head coach Kathi Fisher said. “Rebekah tied for runner-up medalist but lost in the cardback. Abby had a great round as her mid-irons were very solid.
“The heavy winds made us scramble a little more to make fairways.”
Up next for the Hawks will be a meet on Monday hosted by Bondurant-Farrar at Terrace Hills Golf Course. Panorama, Roland-Story and Woodward-Granger complete the field.
