Hawk boys run at Drake Relays

The South Hamilton boys had a busy three day stretch.

The Hawks got in some work here this past Thursday at the Norsemen Relays and then competed at the Drake Relays on Saturday.

The quartet of Kolby Hodnefield, Nick Severseike, Jonathan Drake, and Ty Koehnk placed 39th in the 4×100 relay with a time of 43.74.

The Hawks placed 13th in the 4×200. Running the event were Hodnefield, Severseike, Reece Ricke and Koehnk. They finished in 1:30.19.

The Hawks finished fifth overall as host Roland-Story claimed team gold. Nevada, Ballard and Greene County followed.

Koehnk captured the 400-meter run with the South Hamilton sprint medley and 4×100 relays also finishing first.

Severseike, Noah Gunderson, Drake and Reece Ricke clocked a time of 1:38.44 to win the sprint medley, while Hodnefield, Severseike, Drake and Koehnk went 43.90 in the 4×100.

Landon Greufe, Kole Feaker, Tanner Twedt and Pete Coburn were runners-up in the distance medley relay, as Severseike added a third in the 400.

Placing fourth were Ricke (200), Hodnefield (400) and Hayden Hill (800).

The Hawks run in Alleman at the North Polk Invitational on Monday.
