Eduardo Perez recorded a hat trick to lead the Webster City boys soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Hampton-Dumont/CAL.

Perez broke a scoreless tie 20 minutes into the contest, then added goals late in the 78th and 79th minutes. Conner Peck and David Villelas each tallied assists.

“It was not our best stuff — that’s for sure,” WCHS head coach Craig Signorin said. “That just speaks on (Hampton-Dumont/CAL) and the ability of their players to never make anything easy for us.”

The Lynx put pressure on the Bulldogs, recording 16 shots — including 10 on goal.

“Our defense was outstanding, shutting down and slowing down Hampton’s dangerous counter attacks,” Signorin said. “Aiden, Abasai, JR (Francisco) and Walfre. Freshman goalie Edwin Nolasco Ramos had to make a couple difficult saves from free kicks right outside the box.

“Eduardo was able to find the net on a left-footed strike from Peck in the 20th minute. That seemed to give us a little bit more life. Conner had another outstanding game in the midfield.”
