Busy stretch for Lynx boys on the golf course

Just five strokes separated the Webster City boys, Humboldt and Clear Lake in a North Central Conference triangular at Links Public Course.

The Wildcats finished with a 159 to take first place with the Lions just two shots back. The Lynx finished third with a 164.

Parker Sleiter of Humboldt fired a 36 to earn medalist honors ahead of Webster City’s Cael Nixon, who had a 37. Nixon’s teammate, Braylon Plain, finished third with a 39.

Braden Doering carded a 43, both Dawson Bertran and Luke Firsching had 45s, and Trevyon Lyons finished with a 47.

For the Lynx junior varsity, Coyce Bertran had a 45, Matthew Tesdahl a 46, Briar Klaver and Gavin Malloy 47s, Carter Mickelsen a 51 and Joel Kasch a 53.

Webster City finished second in the JV triangular.

The Lynx also competed at Lake Panorama in an 18-hole meet, placing second to host Panorama. Webster City had a 329, with Nixon (80), Doering (82), Firsching (83) and Plain (84) leading the way.
