AN EVEN DOZEN

BELMOND — The Webster City boys soccer team remained unbeaten with an 8-0 victory over Wright County Soccer here Monday night.

Eddy Fuentes pushed his season goal total to 12 with five, including two in the opening eight minutes of play.

David Villelas added a goal with Israel Torres and Conner Peck each scoring on penalty kicks.

Wilmer Padilla Chavez had four assists and Peck one as the Lynx put 18 shots on the board with 10 on goal and six corner kicks.

“I thought the boys possessed the ball really well and their decision making knowing when to attack and where was fun to watch,” WCHS head coach Craig Signorin said. “Wilmer and David distributed incredibly well and gave our attackers plenty of chances. For being a sophomore and freshman, their play is highly noticed on the field.”

The Lynx return to the pitch on Thursday when they host Iowa Falls-Alden.
