Howard will be honored Saturday
The Webster City community will honor Bob Howard this Saturday.
A special reception honoring the recently-retired head football coach will be held in the West Lobby of the Webster City High School Competition Gym.
The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. A pulled pork sandwich meal to be served.
Howard announced his retirement following this past season after 47 years on the sidelines. The last 17 of those came with the Lynx, leading them to 14 playoff appearances including the 2016 Class 3A championship game.
Over the past four seasons, Webster City went 31-11 and reached the state quarterfinals three times.
Howard’s 372 wins over 47 years ranks in the state’s Top-5 all-time.
Long-time assistant Andy Brim was named his replacement.
