Lynx boys bow out vs. Ballard

HUXLEY — The Webster City boys saw their season come to an end here Monday night, falling to Ballard, 67-46, in a Class 3A, Substate 2 contest.

The Bombers (14-8 overall) advance to face Humboldt on Thursday night in the semifinals, while the Lynx end with a record of 7-15.

Ballard jumped out early, using a 10-0 run to begin the game to take control, leading 20-6 after the first. The advantage grew to 22 at the break before Webster City outscored the Bombers in the third, 20-8.

It marked the final game in a Lynx uniform for seniors Braden Doering, Jack Larson, Kaleb White, Jace Larson, Trevyn Lyons, Briar Klaver, Brandon Lahr and Jaxon Cherry.

Webster City won 45 games over the past four seasons, including an 18-4 run to the substate final last year.
