Webster City boys can’t quite catch Bulldogs
HAMPTON — The Webster City boys put together a strong fourth quarter here Tuesday night vs. Hampton-Dumont/CAL.
Despite outscoring the Bulldogs 18-9 over the final eight minutes, though, the Lynx suffered a 49-43 defeat.
Jace Larson nearly had a triple-double to lead Webster City, scoring 15 points with 11 rebounds and seven blocks. Cole Miller added 12 points and Briar Klaver had five points with six rebounds.
Braden Doering added five rebounds, four assists and a block.
Hampton-Dumont/CAL used a big third where they went on a 17-5 run to push a three-point lead to 15 entering the fourth. They have won five in a row, including three straight in the North Central Conference.
The Bulldogs were paced by a game-high 24 points from Scott Harr, as the senior also grabbed 11 rebounds with five assists. Tucker Heeren added 11 points.
Webster City had won 17 straight vs. the Bulldogs, having not lost since 2014.
The Lynx close out 2023 when they head to Nevada on Thursday.
