Lynx boys rally on the road, but Titans prevail

ROCKWELL CITY — The Webster City boys put together a spirited second half rally here Tuesday night but were unable to overcome South Central Calhoun, falling 60-56.

Jace Larson scored a career-high 27 points, going 12 of 13 from the field, while also grabbing 14 rebounds to lead the Lynx. Eight of those rebounds came on the offensive end for the senior.

Briar Klaver added 14 points and Braden Doering nine with seven rebounds and six assists. Klaver also had five boards and a steal.

For the Titans, Gavin Batta scored 30 points, Cole Higgins 14 and Keegan Soard had eight rebounds.

Webster City was down by 11 after the first quarter and 15 at the break before outscoring South Central Calhoun over the final 16 minutes, 35-24.

The Lynx will look for their first win of the season on Tuesday when they travel to St. Edmond before making their home debut next Friday vs. Clarion-Goldfield/Dows.
