The Webster City volleyball team dropped a tough five-setter to Fort Dodge here Tuesday evening on Senior Night.

Scores were 25-22, 23-25, 11-25, 25-19 and 15-9.

Senior Delainey Bargfrede recorded 10 kills, 19 assists, 15 digs, three blocks and an ace for the Lynx. Olivia Gallentine added 11 kills with five blocks and five digs.

Adeline Tesdahl was 12-for-12 serving with 26 digs and two kills, Marissa Hedeen added 11 kills with two aces and a block, and Ava Peterson picked up 20 assists and eight digs.

Adysen Poppen and Addyson Beaulieu were a combined 30-for-31 serving with six aces, as Poppen also had seven kills, six blocks and four digs.

Cloe Savitski chipped in 25 digs and Addilyn Orton three blocks.

“We did a good job of controlling the ball from beginning to end with our rally and a lot of attacking (in the second and third sets),” WCHS head coach Jess Howard said. “We were making sure we took advantage of the free balls that were given to us.

“In the games that got away, we were not able to attack and gave them too many easy balls to come back with their offense.”

Seniors Bargfrede, Tesdahl, Peterson, Bonnie Nohrenberg, Ellie Weinschenk, Addyson Beaulieu and Madison Babington were recognized in a ceremony for their time with the program.

Webster City plays its final North Central Conference match at Clarion-Goldfield/Dows on Thursday and competes this weekend at the Winterset Tournament. The Lynx begin Class 4A postseason play on Tuesday, Oct. 17 when they host Waverly-Shell Rock.

Starting at $3.46/week.
