South Hamilton ousted in regionals

The South Hamilton volleyball squad was defeated in regional play by Ogden.

After splitting the first two sets, the Bulldogs prevailed in the final two games to advance. Scores were 25-21, 19-25, 26-24 and 25-22 in favor of Ogden.

"I'm sad to see the season come to an end," first-year SH head coach Shannon Skartvedt said. "I really enjoyed coaching these girls this season."

Freshman Tessa Skartvedt recorded 17 kills and seven ace serves for the Hawks, who bow out at 12-20 overall. Senior Tanna Thompson had 27 assists and 17 digs.

Senior Kailyn Northrop tallied 24 digs and three ace serves for South Hamilton.

Senior Grace Neuberger was successful on all 15 of her serve attempts. Thompson, Northrop and fellow senior Ashlyn Erickson only had one error from the service line.

Erickson, Thompson, Northrop, Neuberger, Lauren Vold, Taylor Swanson and Juanita Daniels were the squad's seven seniors. Erickson, Thompson and Neuberger were regular starters.

Skartvedt, sophomore Sara Scheller and sophomore Claire Hewitt are all slated to return in 2024.
