Lynx middle schoolers capture NCC boys title

FORT DODGE — The Webster City middle school boys cross country team captured a North Central Conference championship on Tuesday.

The Lynx had just 23 points, finishing well ahead of Iowa Falls-Alden (52).

Kaleb Draeger (2nd, 12:01.27), Aiden Wardell (3rd, 12:11.47) and Evan Patterson (5th, 12:29.88) all finished in the Top-5 for Webster City. Colten Betts (7th, 12:52.06) and Jordan Betts (8th, 12:53.28) weren’t far behind.

Grayson Simonton took 14th in 13:23.08. Tariq Burton was 16th in 13:29.89, and Lincoln Brookshire placed 18th in 13:41.98.

Evan Christian (23rd, 14:10.24) and Owen Anderson (24th, 14:12.80) were next in line.

On the girls side, Taylor Helik took 22nd in 16:17.16. Carmen Mejia-Santiago was 30th in 16:46.78.
