IDEAL CONDITIONS
Lynx girls host NCC triangular
It was mild and it was still on a Monday afternoon. Combined, the elements make for a nice day for golf.
The Webster City girls’ golf team took advantage of the friendly weather on Monday, hosting Iowa Falls-Alden and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows for a North Central Conference triangular at Briggs Woods Golf Course in Webster City.
The Lynx finished in the middle of the pack, recording 211 collectively — behind the Cadets’ 197 and ahead of the Cowgirls’ final tally of 241.
Leading the way for Webster City was senior Alley Odland and junior Claire Bailey, who each carded a 50 for the home team. Senior Carly Appel came away with a 52, followed by junior Kennedy Halling’s 59.
Freshman Claryssa Hanson finished with a 65, and teammate Alleyna Dawson recorded a 71.
Iowa Falls-Alden’s Olivia French and Paige Danger medaled at the meet. Both golfers logged a final tally of 45.
On Tuesday, the purple and gold played a dual against Greene County at the Jefferson Community Golf Course. Results from the meet will be posted in an upcoming edition of the Daily Freeman-Journal.
