Tough task for Hawks

JEWELL — South Hamilton won their second straight game on Friday, but now the competition gets tougher.

The Hawks (2-0 overall) will now face fourth-ranked (Class 2A) West Marshall (2-0).

South Hamilton defeated South Hardin 44-14. The Hawks rushed for 374 yards, led by Nick Severseike (91) and Noah Gunderson (88). Prestin Van De Pol had two touchdowns and Gunderson had three.

On the season Severseike has 184 yards and Gunderson has 166 with trips to paydirt.

The Trojans stopped Nevada 35-31. Quarterback Peyton Hart threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 101 and a score.

Grahm Nason had four catches for 148 and a score, while Jace Eich and Caden Vellinga had touchdowns.

This year Hart has thrown for 425 and five scores and has ran for 296 and five touchdowns.
