Lynx run at Go-Hawk Classic

WAVERLY — Webster City cross country runners continued to show improvement Tuesday at the Dick Pollitt Go-Hawk Classic held on the Wartburg Cross Country Course.

“We had some large improvements in our overall times and splits and ran well,” said Lynx head coach Derek Turner.

In the unique team scoring format each grade competes separately.

For the Lynx the sophomore girls finished in 11th place among the 12 teams with Denver claiming the title. Karina Murray led the way with a time of 25:36.99.

Emma Peck had the top time for the WCHS girls with a 24:34.28 run in the senior division, placing her 17th.

Webster City’s freshmen boys claimed fourth place in their division of 14 schools. Center Point-Urbana finished in first.

Justin Callahan again was the Lynx leader crossing the finish line in 20:12.29.

Webster City senior Brayden Henely led the Lynx senior boys to a tenth place finish in their division, completing the course in 19:18.46.
