THURSDAY’S PREP BRIEFS

HAWK GIRLS WIN 7 EVENTS AT WEST MARSHALL MEET: Tanna Thompson, Ashlyn Erickson and Kelbe Krumm were all four-time gold medalists to power the South Hamilton girls’ track and field team to a runner-up finish behind Vinton-Shellsburg at the West Marshall Coed last night in State Center.

The Hawks won seven events in all.

Krumm (100-meter dash), Erickson (400) and Kenzie Henderson (400 hurdles) were all individual champions.

South Hamilton came out on top in four relays — the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400 and sprint medley. Thompson ran on all four gold medal relays; Kate Barkema, Krumm and Erickson were all on three. Abby Ervin joined the 4×200 and Anna Lammers was on the 4×400.

LYNX GIRLS SOCCER FALLS: The Webster City girls’ soccer team suffered its second straight 10-0 setback last night in Mason City.

Leading 3-0 at the half, the Mohawks poured in seven more goals in the second half, the last one coming in the 62nd minute.

Rori Snethen had 16 saves in net for the Lynx.
