Busch, Blue new SH school record holders

STORY CITY — Austin Busch and Tanner Blue both broke South Hamilton track and field records here last night.

Busch, already the school record holder in the discus, added the shot put mark to his resume with a gold-medal toss of 55 feet, 7 inches. It eclipsed the previous record of 55-6, held by Brent Johnson since 2007.

And yet Blue’s achievement was even more eye-opening.

His 110-meter high hurdles time of 15.13 seconds won the event and gave him a school record that had stood for 51 years. Allen Abels ran 15.20 in 1970.

Busch also won the discus and Brock Galetich was the 200-meter gold medalist. South Hamilton also won the 4×800 relay and placed second in the team standings.
