WEBSTER CITY — All Webster City High School students will be able to attend tonight’s Class 3A state playoffs quarterfinal at Lynx Field for free.

No. 6-ranked WCHS (9-0) will host Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley (7-2) at 7 p.m. for the right to advance to the state semifinals.

A local group of community members have banded together to pay the $8 admission for any and all WCHS students that would like to attend. Vouchers have been printed and are available to be picked up in the high school office today.

“It’s way cool,” Dr. Mandy Ross, Webster City Schools superintendent, said. “For them to open that up to every Webster City High School student is a tremendous opportunity for our kids and it shows great support from our community. The level of support from this community is outstanding.”

Tonight’s winner will play inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls next week. WCHS last qualified for the state semifinals in 2016 and it eventually finished as the 3A state runner-up.
