Lynx seniors Anderson, Nichols named to academic all-state team

WEBSTER CITY — Webster City senior volleyball players Faith Anderson and Lexi Nichols have found success on the court and in the classroom this fall.

Both learned late last week that they have been named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association academic all-state team.

To qualify for the honor, individuals must be senior volleyball players that maintain a 3.85 grade point average or higher.

“They’ve set their goals very high and they’re attaining those goals, both on the court and in the classroom,” WCHS head volleyball coach Jess Howard said.

Neither Anderson nor Nichols have decided where they will attend college next fall. Anderson intends to major in finance, while Nichols plans to pursue a career in athletic training.

Anderson, an outside hitter, ranks second on the team in kills with 134 and has a .134 kill efficiency entering the postseason. Nichols, a middle hitter, is fourth on the squad with 56 kills and a .071 efficiency.
