Hawks sweep Eagles, fall to SEV

The South Hamilton volleyball team split matches Tuesday evening in Gowrie and sit at 1-4 on the season.

The Hawks swept Eagle Grove in their opener (25-9, 25-7) to give rookie head coach Kayla Schaufenbuel her first career victory. South Hamilton carried the momentum into its second match against Southeast Valley and took the first set, but the Jaguars rallied to win the match in three (22-25, 25-15, 16-14).

South Hamilton statistics from the matches weren’t available as of press time.

The Hawks will make their 2020 home debut this evening when they host Madrid and Colo-NESCO in a non-conference triangular. Play will begin at 5 p.m.
