WEBSTER CITY — The South Hamilton softball team secured three all-conference spots from the Heart of Iowa Conference coaches at the conclusion of the season earlier this month.

Mackenzy Grady, a sophomore catcher, was named to the second-team, while senior pitcher Jessi Harms and junior shortstop Emma Lewis were honorable mention selections.

In her first season behind the plate, Grady made just three errors and threw out a pair of runners attempting to steal bases. Her .955 fielding percentage was the highest on the team.

Grady was also a team leader at the plate where she hit .439 with 18 hits, including seven that went for extra bases. She led the team or shared the team lead in average, doubles (four), triples (one), home runs (two) and RBIs (10).

Harms started nine games inside the pitcher’s circle for South Hamilton and put together a 5-4 record with a 5.38 ERA. She struck out 42 batters in 56 innings of work.
