Hawks take down Ogden for first victory

OGDEN — Freshman Hallee Feaker poured in a team-high 18 points and Emma Lewis went off for 13 more, as they led the South Hamilton girls’ basketball team to its first victory of the season here Thursday night.

The Hawks (1-2) opened up a 44-33 lead on Ogden after three quarters and then held on late for a 54-50 win.

“The girls really played with intensity, especially on the defensive end,” South Hamilton head coach Mark Henderson said. “I couldn’t be more happy for these girls. They deserved this win.”

Caleigh Hewitt chipped in seven points, Hailey Diersen finished with six and nine rebounds, and Aneesa Balderas collected six points as well.

Lewis also yanked down eight boards and piled up four steals.

Ogden (1-2) received 26 points from Gabby Ross and 14 from Denali Loecker.
