WEBSTER CITY — A standout senior season in the middle of the front row produced a fitting award for South Hamilton senior volleyball player Breanne Diersen.

The Hawks’ middle hitter was named to the Class 2A Central District all-district squad this week, one of 12 players to make the cut.

A second-team all-Heart of Iowa Conference selection following a fall campaign where she helped South Hamilton compile a 24-8 overall record, Diersen was arguably the Hawks’ strongest hitter. She ranked third on the team in kills with 143 and led the way among the attackers with a .333 kill efficiency.

Diersen also excelled defensively where she collected a team-best 61 blocks, 32 of which were solo snuffs. She added on 163 digs and 13 service aces.
