Moss on Johnston team that reaches U.S. final at Junior League World Series
WEBSTER CITY – Cade Moss, the grandson of Webster City residents Leonard and Kathy Moss and Steve and Alys Kehoe, recently played for the Johnston all-star team that competed in the Junior League Baseball World Series in Taylor, Mich.
Great grandparents Melvin and JoAnn Biggs are also Webster City residents.
A part of the Little League organization, the JLWS comprised of the top 13- and 14-year-old teams from the United States and abroad.
Cade Moss was a shortstop and pitcher for the Central Team that went 4-0 in pool play. The squad eventually lost to the Southeast, 7-4, in the United States final.
Asia-Pacific claimed the world title by shelling the Southeast Team, 12-0, in the championship game.
The squad from Johnston qualified for the World Series by winning state and regional tournaments.
