SOUTH HAMILTON TRACK BRIEFS

HAWK GIRLS FOURTH: The South Hamilton girls’ track team won two events and placed in eight others en route to 69 points and a fourth-place team finish at last night’s CMB Lady Raider Relays in Baxter.

Alyssa Hegland won another high jump title by clearing 5 feet, 2 inches, and the 4×800-meter relay group of Allyson Ervin, Katie Austin, Kayla Lucas and Anna Moss secured the top spot in 10:37.51.

Ervin added a silver medal in the 400 hurdles (1:12.54). The sprint medley (2:03.08) and distance medley (4:48.65) relays were also second.

SH BOYS FIND SUCCESS IN RELAYS: Three relay victories highlighted a sixth-place team finish for the South Hamilton boys’ track team at its own Hawk Invitational last night in Jewell.

The quartet of Drake Thompson, Devon Fisher, Trey Woodall and Caleb Olson banded together to win the 4×200- (1:37.50) and 4×400-meter (3:40.35) relays. Jared Fisher and Josiah Brown joined Devon Fisher and Olson on the gold-medal 4×800 (8:29.00).

Woodall took the silver in the 400 low hurdles (59.58), as did the 1,600 medley (3:52.80).
