HAWK BOYS STRUGGLE AT HOME

South Hamilton did not take advantage of playing at its home course and fell to the back of a boys’ golf triangular on Monday in Jewell.

Fort Dodge St. Edmond carved up the Jewell Golf and Country Club for a meet-winning 158. Saydel took second with a 178, followed by the Hawks with a 179.

“It’s disappointing to shoot that on a perfect night to play golf,” South Hamilton head coach Mark Ullestad said.

St. Edmond’s Michael Faiferlick and Harrison Mayer both recorded rounds of 39 to share the top spot on the leaderboard.

Nathan Sogard and Colton Coy shot 43s to pace the Hawks. Jared Ullestad turned in a 45. Sam Waid and Zach Erickson both carded 48s.
