NEH says farewell at home against No. 4 ’Cats

BLAIRSBURG – Northeast Hamilton faces the daunting task of hosting No. 4-ranked and unbeaten Glidden-Ralston tonight at 7 p.m.

The Wildcats put up 58.3 points per game and outscore opponents by better than 42 points per game. They’ve scored at least 60 points twice and have surpassed the 70-point threshold on two other occasions.

Bruising running back Christopher Brown averages better than 11 yards per carry and has scored 17 touchdowns. Teammate Oliver Connor checks in at a not-too-shabby 9.9 yards per tote.

And none of that matters.

With this the final game for the storied Northeast Hamilton program, the players, coaches and fans should simply enjoy the night, regardless of the score.

Celebrate the team one final time. Applaud the good plays. Tell stories from the past, and there should be plenty of great tales to tell.

But above all else, cherish the program. It’s been a great ride, Trojans. A really great ride.
