To the editor: I am writing in support of Kerry Jacobsen’s election to the Webster City Community School Board. Kerry and her young family have lived in Webster City for 15 years. She moved here after graduating from Iowa State University when both her and her husband’s careers required a move to our area. They selected Webster City because the community was very similar to the towns they had grown up in, as well as having a strong school district for their children. To the Editor: I am writing to encourage my fellow community members to support Scot Ely in his campaign for school board. Scot is exactly the type of leader we need guiding the future of our schools. As a former Webster City Police Officer and currently an Iowa DCI Special Agent in the Major Crimes Unit, Scot has built his career on keeping people safe and making sound, responsible decisions. The Doodle Bug Club of America says thank you

To the editor: On behalf of the Doodle Bug Club of America, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire Webster City community for the warm welcome and generous hospitality shown to our members during our recent gathering. We were pleased to host riders and families from many states including some from as far away as Alaska, New Hampshire and California. Everyone left with wonderful memories and appreciation for the kindness extended to them. If you’re fed up with a politician, vote him/her out

To the editor: I’m sure that math teachers are trying to but it’s not getting through. I guess young people don’t care and old people like me must be diminished. They say rich people make up 1% then the rest of us working people are 99%. Each person gets one vote. The last I knew 99% was 99 times more powerful than 1%. To the editor: Treasury Secretary (Scott) Bessent accidentally revealed the Republican plan to privatize Social Security benefits with the new "Trump accounts." These accounts are contributions made for children born in the U.S. Before the Great Recession of 2007 the George W. Bush administration was very enthused about private accounts. For those of us who were adults at that time we remember that idea suddenly became unpopular with the stock market crash in 2007 and was suddenly dropped.
