To the Editor:

Thank you to everyone who attended the 24th Annual Friends of St. Thomas Ball and Auction on Saturday, May 3. What a joy it was to gather as a community for socializing, celebrating, and supporting a great cause. The evening was filled with laughter, generosity, and goodwill — a true testament to the spirit of Webster City.

A heartfelt Thank You to our generous sponsors, who we will continue to recognize throughout the school year. Events like this are only possible through the dedication of many caring individuals. I am especially grateful to the St. Thomas Ball committee members, who offered countless hours of time, energy, and talent to bring this event to life. Many others, including organizations and volunteers, also lent their hands and hearts — please accept our deepest appreciation.

We are also incredibly thankful to the community donors whose contributions created a diverse and exciting auction full of amazing items, and to all of you who supported the auction by placing bids and making purchases. Your generosity directly supports our mission and our students.

At St. Thomas, the cost to educate a student is just over $11,000, and we do not charge that full amount in tuition. Funds raised from this event, along with generous support from our parish, help close that gap. In turn, this all helps support our school programs and student resources, and the future of Catholic education in our community.

I strive to point toward the good in the world — to seek kindness, foster community, and recognize beauty. This event reflected all of that, thanks to the many individuals and businesses who gave so selflessly. We are proud and grateful to be part of the wonderful Webster City community.
