The Doodle Bug Club of America thanks the community for its support
To the editor:
The Doodle Bug Club of America would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire community for your ongoing support of our club and its members.
We recognize that it’s impossible to thank everyone individually who has contributed to our annual event in one way or another so we want to take a moment to extend a sincere thank you to everyone. Your support and service are so important to our club and our members and we truly appreciate everything that is done for us.
During our annual meeting, it was brought up that a non-attending member had mentioned we consider moving the location of our reunion to a different area of the United States each year. However, our members voted overwhelmingly to keep it in Webster City for many reasons, including the strong sense of community and connection that they feel when they come to our town and surrounding communities.
Our members contribute significantly to the local economy by spending nights in hotels, dining at local restaurants, shopping in our stores, and enjoying our beautiful parks and trails. We all realize that our club is more like a family. The bonds we have formed and the support we provide each other are what make our club so important to our members. The community support we receive helps create a partnership that we are very grateful for.
A special highlight this year was the unveiling of the impressive Doodle Bug sculpture located by City Hall. A huge thank you to Legacy Learning, Maureen Seamonds and her team; and to Claude Christian and his team who fabricated the sculpture. We appreciate their hard work in creating and installing this wonderful addition to our community.
Thank you to the entire Webster City community for being an integral part of our Doodle Bug family.
