To the Editor:

I am writing this letter in support of Sheriff Doug Timmons’ reelection as Hamilton County Sheriff. Sheriff Timmons is a very active member of the Stratford community and has been an excellent partner working with the school.

He visits the school regularly doing “High Five Fridays” with the students. This provides him with the opportunity to get to know our students and for them to see that a person is a position such as his is someone to not be afraid of but as someone that is there to help them. He is always willing to volunteer time out of his busy schedule to talk to the students during Red Ribbon Week about the harm drugs and alcohol can have on them and why it’s important to stay drug free. Sheriff Timmons served on our school’s crisis team and provided valuable support and help as we developed our new emergency plan.

Sheriff Timmons has served our school and the community of Stratford well. As I have gotten to know him in my position as principal of the school, I have seen the character he possesses and the type of person he is. It is clear to me that he cares about our students, community, and Hamilton County as a whole. It is for these reasons that I am supporting Doug Timmons for Sheriff. I do this not as the principal or representative of the school but as a citizen of the community of Stratford and of Hamilton County.
